I was going to tell you all about my sewing weekend in Nashville, but I haven’t finished my skirt. I got the top layer finished {minus the zipper}, but still have to sew the lining and attach it. Here’s the progress so far {I cannot believe I’m sharing my mid-section with the internet–gasp!}:
I love everything so far. I love the wide band at the top. I love the pleats down the front. And I love love love the pockets. This pattern is actually one of her new designs and will be hitting stores this fall. {Oh, and I love Anna–such a sweet person!}
But enough of that, I’ll show you more pictures from the workshop and our little trip later this week. Many of them feature a certain Little Miss in her cowboy boots and pink cowboy hat, I’ll tell you that.
Today when I came home from work my mom informed me that she and MM had a surprise for me. She made me turn around and close my eyes. When she told me to I looked up and saw this:
Oh yes, a bunny. A very small, teeny, tiny bunny.
My dad was cleaning the pool this morning and discovered him/her hanging on for dear life on the side of the skimmer. {In case you don’t know, a skimmer is the place where all the stuff on the top of the water is pushed–it’s a way to get rid of trash in a pool. Dad finds all sorts of things in there–from bugs to snakes–and there are dead 99.9% of the time.}
We have no idea how long it had been there, but Dad said by the way it looked when he got it out it wouldn’t have lasted much longer. In fact he thought it was dead.
But he saw an ear twitch and realized it was still alive. He took it inside and used the hair dryer to warm her up and dry its fur.
After awhile it opened its little eyes and Dad put it in a {diapers} box. Every couple of hours they get out the dropper and feed it some milk.
The little guy/gal is not out of the woods yet…by far. It’s so tiny and spent so long in that cold water that I just don’t know if it will make it. Though I do know if it does MM will have a new pet at the farm.
I’ve said it before, but I’ll say again: there is ALWAYS something going on at the farm!

Your skirt is gorgeous!
We found several bunnies when I was a kid and gave them cow’s milk. Bad idea. Check with the pet store on what to feed him/her.
yes! goat’s milk is the way to go w/bunnies.
this one is far enough along that it drinks mostly water and eats lettuce, etc.
awww sweet bunny — I hope it makes it.
The skirt is looking fab! And what a crazy story about the bunny…is it going to pull through?
