I just love this time of year. Everything is so fresh and fantastic.
Blackberries. Cobblers, preserves.
Green beans. Eating them by the pounds, freezing.
Peppers, Cayennes specifically. Hot Pepper Sauce.
Fresh farm eggs. Scrambled, cakes, and quiches–oh my!
And let’s not forget those peaches. Freezing and what better way to use them than putting them in the
best cobbler ever?
And there’s many more–cucumbers, corn, tomatoes, blueberries, new potatoes, to name a few. In the upcoming weeks we’ll have cantaloupes, figs, sweet potatoes, peas, and watermelons. I’m so excited I can’t hardly wait–for the eating, of course, but also the preserving so we can have them in the winter months too.
Have I mentioned how much I love summer’s bounty?
And not to toot my own horn…but I’m so gonna…guess who was featured on Sew Much Ado for MM’s ice cream dress? Moi! So excited! Go check me out…and the other crafting/baking/creative things over there.
