…that was us here at Brogdon House this past weekend.
We were 250 bricks short on our project and our sidewalk only went halfway to the driveway.
But no worries, the extra brick was picked up this past Friday and the handymen finished laying it this morning.
And it is perfect. It is what I always wanted for Brogdon House. Even though we were unable to find antique brick, I think the new distressed brick looks pretty dang good! …and I got an extra treat because we bricked our steps too!
{My ferns were out in the yard waiting on the rain to water them. Pardon my unkept front door at the moment.}
And MM likes how smooth it is for riding in her Tot Rod and her wagon…not to mention running!
Oh, and those little shorts MM is wearing in the top picture? I made those using 1/3 yd fabric, 13″ of elastic, and just thirty minutes. Would anyone like to see a tutorial on those? Just wondering!

Looks great! And YES! I love tutorials…even though I am intimidated at threading my machine.
bring on the tutorial… one day very soon (Like 24 days …I’m not counting or anything) I’m going to have to get out the sewing machine!
I want the tutorial…and a one on one day of learning from you!
The walkway is beautiful….I am soo envious ! MM looks adorable in the lttle shorts you made. Way to go, Nat !
I love it, looks beautiful and as if it has always been there!
Love the brick walkway!
I’ve been meaning to ask if you have any recommendations for local antique stores or flea markets. I’d like to get an old iron headboard for our guest room and I love your beds.
WOW!! Looks GREAT!
Looks awesome! I agree that it looks like it’s been there for a long time. Can you show us a pic of the new walkway from farther back? I would love to see an overall picture.
