Tutorial: Coupon Organizer – Cash Holder

Here’s that coupon organizer-cash holder how-to I promised you.  I know I said it last week, but this coupon organizer is SO easy to make.  Like, so so so easy.

These are the materials you need: 14″ x 11.5″ fabric (times 2; they need to coordinate), 70 Pellon 14″ x 11.5″ stabilizer, and 11″ velcro.  Cut your fabric and stabilizer out. 

Then layer them.  Stabilizer on bottom, inside fabric right side facing up, and outside fabric wrong side facing down (so the two fabrics are facing right sides together). 

 Pin these fabrics together and sew 1/2″ all the way around, except leaving about a 4″ opening so you can turn it inside out.  Make sure to clip the corners at a diagonal like this (it ensures the corners are nice and crisp):

 Turn inside out so that the right sides are now facing out.  Iron.  Sew 1/4″ around the edge.

 Pin the rough side of the velcro at the top of the *right* side (the outside of the coupon holder) of the fabric about 1/2″ from the top.

 Sew the velcro on making sure you backstitch the ends very well.

Pin the bottom part of the holder up about 4.5″–see the picture more for details.  Sew 1/4″ all the way around the coupon holder, starting in the bottom left hand corner and going clockwise. 

 Add the soft side of the velcro to the wrong side of the fabric about 1/2″ from the top.  Remember to backstitch the sides of the velcro.
