Yesterday C. celebrated his 30th birthday with a little shindig at Brogdon House. Some of his oldest and best friends came and I could tell he was having a great time–he had a big smile on his face the whole time. Horseshoes, Kübb, and Frisbee Golf (with a little football throwing on the side) were enjoyed, while pheasant and quail–from C.’s recent hunt last week–were devoured.
C. and I were talking this morning and decided we have to get our friends together to play yard games more often. We had such a great time. Thanks for coming, everyone! (Hi, Kelly!)
MM debating on whether she wanted to play croquet or not.
The guys playing Kübb–C. and Robert were the two competitive ones in the bunch. Our friend Nick brought this game and it was so much fun. I think C. is going to make us a set (who knows, he may be posting his own tutorial soon, haha!).
While Mom was busy in the kitchen, her godfather Tom pulled MM around the yard in her wagon.
We did two types of quail–one with a lemon-pepper marinade wrapped in bacon and the other with a yogurt, garlic, and seasoned salt marinade. They were fantastic.
The men doing what they do best–gabbing around the grill. And the girls were doing what they do best–gabbing on the porch.
Right before she went to bed MM had dinner too. She was a fan of her daddy’s quail.
Yum, pheasant.
