Today Mother and I went to one of our favorite quarterly sales–The Works Children’s Boutique Clearance Sale. Some of our best buys have been there and we always look forward to going. Once we got a beautiful corduroy dress coat for $18 (normally $90), we’ve also got smocked dresses upon smocked dresses ranging from $9.99 (yes, you heard right–brand new with tags) to no more than $30. These same dresses have $80+ tags still on them. Today was the best yet though. I found a Green Pomegranate dress marked $146 (the same designer that MM wore in her six month pictures found here) for…drumroll please…$24. Yes, $24. I almost cried I was so happy. I also got her a Christmas night gown for $2.50 which was normally $28. We also got her two pairs of Mooshu sandals for half off too. Oh, and there may have been a blue and brown *smocked* bathing suit purchased…because honestly, doesn’t every girl need a smocked bathing suit at some point in her life? Her Mimi and I thought so.
I didn’t post all this to gloat. Okay, okay, maybe I did. But what I really meant to say is that I very often buy outfits with the sole intention of having MM’s picture made in them at some point.
-Her pink cashmere going home outfit.
-Her light blue two-piece pants set hemmed in lace from Strasburg Children.
{can’t find a picture on the computer. oops.}
-Her Green Pomegranate dress with apron and bonnet all made with antique linens.
-Her vintage light blue dress with pearl buttons and matching sweater we found at an antiques show two years before she was born.
-Her smocked owl romper.
And now, a smocked bathing suit and another Green Pomegranate dress. I can already see the dress being worn as MM walks around the park in our little downtown named in honor of her grandmother this spring and the little swimsuit while she splish splashes this summer.
So, my question is this: am I the only mother who buys clothes especially for pictures? (Please say no…haha!)

Of course not! In fact – I not only think about the pictures but how cute they’ll be on a blog post. haha! Jealous of the sale!
So cute! I’m not a mother but I would totally buy clothes just for photos.

I have followed you blog since your pregnancy. I think I clicked on it because some one has it linked, and I was just amazed at your house, and all the work you did, and I like your writing style.
