I’m on the Hunt

The other day I ordered a pack of scraps from someone on Etsy.  It had all my favorite designers and the pieces of fabrics all the perfect size for appliquing.  The day I got them I spent the evening organizing them by color and size (yes, yes, I’m a dork).

Towards the end I found a piece of fabric that I had never seen before.  I was in love…no make that LUV.  I emailed the seller, but they didn’t know the designer.

I thought about the fabric all the next day.  I could not get it off my mind.  So I started emailing other fabric sellers on Etsy.  I thought if anyone would know, they would–after all, it’s what they do for a living!12 replied by that night.  Nope.  No one knew the mystery fabric.  I searched.  I googled.  I went to missingfabrics.com.  But the fabric kept alluding me.

Then someone replied.  They said they weren’t sure, but it did look like a Valori Wells-type design.  I wondered who this Valeri person was.  I found her website and after some searching FOUND!THE!FABRIC!

It’s bright.  It’s wild.  It’s crazy.  But lord, I love it.  I want to make MM a summer dress out of it.  I want to make pillows for my front porch from it.But…it’s been discontinued for over a year.  Now I’m on the hunt again because no one has more than a fat quarter of it on Etsy.  But I *will* prevail–I will find my fabric!
