C. works in a very volatile industry.  I have said before we were just praying that he keeps his job and this week we were told he has a job for at least the next 21 months which is such a blessing in this economy and a sign from God that he wants me to work part-time next year (remember my post on the things we needed to do to make it happen?). 

Unfortunately, this job security comes with strings.

Starting in March C. will be out-of-state working on a project in Alabama for 17 months.  He’ll leave early Monday morning (we’re talking 4am) and return Friday afternoons. I know it’s better than being a plane ride away like he was in Raleigh, but it’s still going to be so hard on all of us.  I feel so blessed that he was given job security, yet so heartbroken to know that he’s going to be away more than he’ll be home.

So, like I said, bittersweet.
