Well, she finally did it.
She’s been practicing for a few weeks now–like she has this great need to be standing all the time. You sit her in your lap and she frets. You lay her back and she screams. You let her stand on your lap and she smiles and coos.
My mom says that’s a sign of an early walker. All I know is she doesn’t like to cuddle anymore.
Yesterday I was helping her to stand in the playroom and I thought, ‘Maybe I’ll see if she can stand by the ottoman.’ And boy, did she ever! For over a minute the first time. She stood so long that I was able to get about two dozen pictures of her standing unassisted. She was cooing and smiling and so happy with herself.
As you can see, she was pretty pleased with herself afterwards.

Too cute! Glad she is feeling better today!
my sweet little MM is growing up tooooo fast!
That is great BUT please do not rush her with her efforts. Too soon you will wish she were still in the real “baby-days” of being so dependent on Mommy! The fact that she is trying to stand indicates that this is b/c she is strengthening her little legs
to soon be using them to her full extent…this is good to develop her little leg muscles.
Go MM!
I was so inspired by her new trick that I let Marshall give it a try…sure enough…he wanted to stand up like that too! They are getting so big so fast!
